The laboratory process flow is shown below:
Laboratory Testing Procedures
Bulk Density → defines the volumetric flow of material within the screener
Split Sample → ensures the full spectrum of the material is represented in analysis
Feed Analysis → identifies particle size distribution (PSD is a breakdown of the sample that shows the relative amount of particles present according to size)
Screen Selection → choose the proper screen mesh based on customers’ required separation and product specs
Run Test → set up lab screener with appropriate slope, stroke & speed and test material using the selected screen mesh
Weigh Separations → weigh the separated fractions to determine the percentage of each
Separation Analysis → analyze the separated fractions to identify the PSD of each
Examine Results → review the PSD of fractions to confirm customer specs and product recovery rates were met
Success → generates lab test report and flow diagram to send to the customer
Failure to Meet Specs → runs new test, tweaking parameters such as screen mesh size, mesh cleaning balls and machine size selection
